On adab

Adab is hard to translate. Manners is too small, etiquette too formal. It is closer to good character expressed as conduct, the way you carry yourself with people, with elders, with strangers, and with your own soul.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, was sent to perfect character. Not to win arguments or to be the loudest in the room, but to raise the standard of how we treat one another. Adab is that standard, lived. Lowering your voice, keeping your word, giving people the better assumption.
It applies on the screen as much as off it: the way we speak in the comments, the patience we extend online, the restraint we show when we could clap back. A brand can only do so much here. But we can choose quiet over loud, and let the character do the talking.
